Tabriz was once the center of the world for the production of fine Persian rugs. Tabriz was also once the capital city of the mighty Persian Empire. In modern times, it is still the most reputable weaving location for traditional design and high quality. Rug weaving in Tabriz predates the other areas in modern Iran by over 4 centuries and their reputation is world renown.
Each antique Tabriz Persian rug is handmade with precision and expertise. This beautiful specimen features a very fine 800 kpsi and it is a 70% silk and 30% wool mixture. As a result, the beautiful silk highlights the fine central medallion design. Additionally, this particular design features 4 lovely flower vases inside the outer frieze. Please enjoy the blue highlighting with the winding floral vines throughout. Furthermore, the signature of the weaver can be viewed at the bottom end of the rug.
